Our Lawn boys!

We had a visit from our new lawn company. My silly push mower just didn't cut it.Pardon the pun!The company name is Nevaeh Landscaping. Heaven backwards. They cut the new lawn with the blade really high and used a mulch blade so the cutting go back into the ground. They used the trimmer and everything looks neat and tidy!Took them about 20 minutes to do the lot.

Some pix .

Some of the plants in pots on my deck. There is a Brown Turkey fig, it seems to have a few figs setting so fingers crossed. The wooden trellis holds an Arctic Kiwi, it has been in a pot for about 3 years, hope to get a place to plant it permanently. There is a magnolia(hubby's favourite tree) various herbs and the black square planter holds my sweet peas.
I grew them from seed and they are a highly scented variety. The next picture is of a clematis on the side of the deck, going up the downspout. I love the way they meander about looking for a place to grab on!

We have hired a landscaping company.

My little push mower only "pushed" the long grass seedlings so I asked the man that had set up our yard originally if he did lawns or could recommend anyone. He came back with a local firm Nevaeh Landscaping. The owner popped in and had a look at the yard and will start next week. He will use a mulching mower to put goodness back, over-seed (as the birds sure had a feast last fall!) and also fertilize as needed. I feel that I don't mind the expense if it makes our place look great for selling in the Fall.

That darn cat!

We have a neighbourhood outdoor cat that uses our yard as its' latrine. I caught it yesterday stalking "our" quail. Luckily I happened to look out and was able to scare it away.(Quail too!)

New bed for raspberries and strawberries.

The green tube sticking up in front of the bed will be cut down to ground level. It is a clean out for our neighbours sewer line!!Made the frame from 2"x6" wood from house build. Used power tools to cut and drill and screw. Dug over the area in the box then spread some peat moss I had, some compost from the old compost heap then topped it off with               soil from the 799 garden. Still have a few more loads to put in but had house things to do in pm.
Also started some basil, dill and chive seeds in greenhouse on deck.
