Cinqo de Mayo (spelling?)

This is my effort for today before it rained. I am reclaiming a circle garden around this tree in the front yard. The bulbs were all here when we moved in originally.
Not very clear but these are the last of some Lily of the Valley that covered the whole front yard.I put the tomato cage over then to make them obvious to our fence builders arriving tomorrow.
The bottom picture isn't really gardening but it shows we moved the cement divider so the fence will be on the right side !!!

General photos.May20/2012

This is the fruit bed. As you can see the strawberries are beginning to flower, something has nipped off a couple of the leaves so I have spread some nylon netting over them. Raspberries in the background are flowering too.

This is the ancient grapevine on the other lot, it is showing lots of potential fruit.

And these are columbines hiding in the gnarled trunk of that grape.

I took another couple of photos but I can't remember how to rotate then as I took them sideways! Either that or dear reader will have to turn their head on the side!

The fence begins.

The guys finally arrived today to start the fence. One week and two days late! It will be a difficult job for them as the existing fenceposts are sunk into LARGE cement blobs and a couple of the blobs are where the new fenceposts should go.

The white bucket marks the site of a hole they dug for a post, it also is exactly where my last remaining Lily of The Valley plant was!! I managed to unearth the flowers but their stalks were broken so I stuck them in water and hope they will last a couple of days.

My basil seedlings are ready to be planted out so I guess that will happen tomorrow.

I am going away to Yellowpoint Lodge next Monday for four nights then Hubby and I are vacationing for a while. House sitter is all arranged.
